My translation of the article
Q01. Why did you become Manga author? A01. I thought I could be a good Manga author. In the first place I love to work alone, so a manga author was suitable job for me. Q02. Why did you go school for photographer before making your debut as a manga author? A02. In those days we could see student riots here and there. I wanted to take the pictures of riots to inform the world about this happening widely, and then I got to have an interest in the photograph. But one day I found that those students didn't mean to insist their ideology. They just took part in the demonstration march for fun. I was so depressed that I lost my interest in taking a photo. Q03. After that, you became a manga author, didn't you? A03. Right. To tell the truth I had not read many mangas until then. The only manga I had ever read was 4-koma-manga appeared in a newspaper. So I drew 4-koma-manga inevitably. I approached some publishers with working at a peparatory school but I couldn't get good feedback. After searching a lot of publishers which specialize in manga, I could finally meet Houbunsha company. This company welcomed my works. After that I became popular more and more. In my golden age, I drew about two hundred 4-koma-mangas per a month. TO BE CONTINUED |

Q04. How do you make a such amount of story? A04. I don't know...haha.... What I have to do is just thinking and thinking. To make seven stories, I have to imagine twenty stories. A.15. I want to continue this job as long as possible. I think it's really hard for me. Because I have to make better works continually, and the works must be better and better. I can make the unlimited story for my works, so the important thing is how to describe them, and how to express the idea, I think. Q16. What makes you continue this hard job? A16. Quite simple question. I can feel great satisfaction when I make a nice work. Many people get great satisfaction when they could do a great job. As a result they try to continue their job. Q.17. Please send a message for your fans A.17. I'll write funny Manga , so please expect my great job. THE END |
